06 Mar PATHFINDER – Presentation and Implementation of a Survey on the Needs for AI-Driven Education

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12 pm, a presentation and survey were conducted in the large amphitheatre at the Faculty of Economics as part of the Erasmus+ project PATHFINDER – Pioneering AI Technology in Higher Education to Facilitate Innovation and Nurture the Development of Entrepreneurial Resources.
The presentation and activities were led by Dr. Toni Besjedica, who introduced students to the project objectives and the key aspects of applying artificial intelligence in higher education.
The event was attended by 34 students who are currently staying at the University of Dubrovnik as part of international mobility programmes. They participated in an interactive presentation focused on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. During the presentation, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of AI-driven education in strengthening digital readiness, innovation, and entrepreneurial competences.
The presentation covered topics such as:
• responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in education,
• possibilities for integrating AI tools into teaching and learning processes,
• development of AI literacy and digital competences in accordance with European frameworks,
• encouraging innovative and entrepreneurial thinking through the use of AI technologies.
A survey was conducted among the students to collect information about their needs, expectations, and attitudes regarding the use of artificial intelligence in education. This provided valuable insights into students’ perceptions, the challenges they face, and their preferences related to AI-driven education.
The survey results will serve as a foundation for the further development of strategic guidelines and tools within the PATHFINDER project, ensuring that project outcomes are aligned with the real needs of students and the ongoing process of digital transformation in higher education.
